Re: Retail Pet Sales
On behalf of our Renton supporters and volunteers, we want to thank you for your dedication on
the issue of retail pet sales. This has been a very long process and we appreciate the research
and time you have put in to make sure that the animals that are being brought into the city of
Renton are coming from humane sources.
Although we would prefer something with more straight-forward language that models existing
ordinances passed across the country, we appreciate the intent behind the proposed language.
We do believe that this language will be a step towards curbing the puppy mill problem in the
City of Renton.
We look forward to seeing how this ordinance progresses and hope that current and new pet
stores will choose to follow these guidelines to ensure that pets obtained in Renton are coming
from humane sources.
