Bill Jebson was part of a 2013 design team to replace the blast deflector wall at the RMA, which is the longest jet blast deflector in the world at 264 feet, with art. In 2016 the airport funding declined, but has since been reinstated to an estimated $178,000 to $250,000. Jebson designed the prototype which is currently on display on part of the blast deflector. Approximately $89,000 is needed to complete the project made from stainless steel and anodized aluminum. However, the project has been stalled as more landscaping is being considered. Transportation has rescinded the funding ($109,000 has been allocated). The Airport Advisory Committee needs a letter to move forward with the artwork. Mitch and Mary will review the current status of the project and make a recommendation for RMAC action. * John Collum thanked the RMAC for participating in the Downtown Civic Core Project last month.
