THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
Foundation Subgrade Observations- Building Areas B and C:
Associated Earth Sciences Inc. (AESI) was on site part-time for geotechnical observations. Upon our arrival at 2:45pm, we met with
representatives from Cornerstone and Continental Dirt Contractors (CDC). While on-site, we observed a series of completed spread
footing excavations, as located on the foundation plan shown below and in the images on the following pages. Most of the footing
forms had been installed. The foundation subgrades were blanketed with a few inches of the imported, compacted 2-1/2 inch minus,
crushed rock to provide a stable, winter working surface. Shallower footing excavations were still located in the crushed rock building
pad. The rock was observed to be in a firm and unyielding condition, based on visual observations and with a ½ inch diameter, steel
soil probe. Dense, native soil consisting of lodgement till was observed along the margins of the deeper footing excavations. The
compacted rock and native sediment will provide suitable foundation soil bearing of 3,500 psf, per plan, in our opinion. The
contractor planned to excavate another footing on gridline A23/AM-AQ tomorrow.

Grading in Shop/Mechanical yard enclosure area: While onsite today, Jerry with CDC showed us wet fill that had been spread out temporarily east-northeast of the building area. The fill was on the order of 1 to 2 feet thick and yielded easily under foot. Jerry informed us that it would be removed and replaced with suitable material (soil or rock).
