Project name (no changes shall be made after acceptance of application submittal) NWR Emergency Repair XL6555 2. The nature, source, intensity, and location of the sound/project limits. (No changes shall be made after acceptance of application submittal) See MAP_Site_Plan_SR900_WSDOT_04152022.v.2 for project work location information. WSDOT Contractor will repair existing pavement, pave within the detailed limits, and replace Traffic Signal loops if damage during the paving operations. See CA_Noise_propagation-calculation_ construction equipment_0607022_v2 detailing construction equipment source and project noise levels at variable propagation distances. 3. Description of work WSDOT work includes SR900 pavement repairs of SR900 sections of roadways with hot mix asphalt, placement of pavement markings and replacement of traffic loops if damage. 4. The equipment and vehicles used for the work (please provide a table of the equipment to be used with its appropriate decibels) See CA_Noise_propagation-calculation_ construction equipment_06072022_v2 5. Proposed Noise Mitigating Measures the applicant will implement to minimize the sound level violations See CM_Noise_Construction_Mitigation_ Measures_04152022_v1 6. Any additional information or studies regarding any aspect of the requested variance that is deemed necessary to complete the review of the variance request. N/A 7. The hours during the day and/or night the noise will occur. Westbound SR 900 One lane closed with traffic shifted to the opposite lane maintaining on lane in each direction: Sunday 8:00 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m. Monday 8:00 p.m. to Tuesday 5:00 a.m. Tuesday 8:00 p.m. to Wednesday 5:00 a.m. Wednesday 8:00 p.m. to Thursday 5:00 a.m. Thursday 8:00 p.m. to Friday 5:00 a.m. Saturday 8:00 p.m. to Sunday 8:00 a.m. Eastbound SR 900 One lane closed with traffic shifted to the opposite lane maintaining on lane in each direction: Sunday 8:00 p.m. to Monday 5:00 a.m. Monday 8:00 p.m. to Tuesday 5:00 a.m. Tuesday 8:00 p.m. to Wednesday 5:00 a.m. Wednesday 8:00 p.m. to Thursday 5:00 a.m. Thursday 8:00 p.m. to Friday 5:00 a.m. Saturday 8:00 p.m. to Sunday 8:00 a.m. Weekend closures may be allowed with the coordination of City of Renton Traffic. 8. The number of days and/or nights the noise will occur (no changes shall be made after acceptance of application submittal) WSDOT is requesting 8 non-consecutive nights. 9. The ambient sound level during the time of day or night for which the variance is being sought CA_Noise_propagation-calculation_ construction equipment_06072022_v2 list projected noise levels depending on type of construction equipment and location of residences. 10. The time period (include start date and end date) for which the variance is requested (no changes shall be made after acceptance of application submittal) Within the City of Renton, the emergency night work is estimated for 8 nights along SR 900 between MP 13.10-MP 13.78 and MP 14.31 MP 14.40. Construction window is anticipated between the inclusive dates of June 2022 thru September 2022. 11. The reason for which the noise violation cannot be avoided, i.e., why work cannot be performed within allowed times Temporary nighttime construction is one of the few tools that WSDOT applies to lessen traffic congestion and disruption not only to highway users but to daytime commercial, school routes, delivery users while addressing this emergency repair this upcoming summer. 12. Mitigating conditions the applicant will implement to minimize the sound level violations. See CM_Noise_Construction_Mitigation_ Measures_04152022_v1
