Hello Margarette,Thank you for your efforts. The fact that they were sent today, and thank you for that, does that mean they were not passed on each time a letteror other communication, at the time they were sent? I can understand why there might not have been, because the Planning Commission was not really involved untilnow? Thanks again.Nicola Robinson ________________________________________From: Party of Record <POR@rentonwa.gov>Sent: Thursday, July 7, 2022 5:15 PMTo: N RCc: Angie MathiasSubject: RE: Do you receive my letters, as I don't get a reply and don't expect one... Thank you for all you do for our city, and for your time tonight. I have sent your group a lot of information since April regarding Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).You have a lot of demands on your time, and have to be selective about what you can possibly read. I apologize if I have sent too many letters. Because of a comment from a commission member, I am not sure if all the information I am sending is reachingyou, or if it is what I should be doing? Interestingly, one of the Commission members made a comparison between the risks of living close to a car with acar battery, and 9.3 acres of Grid Sized, Li-ion Mega Packs, totaling 300 batteries.I am asking if this is a fair comparison of risk? We are a community of modest homes/affordable, that were built in 1943.A unique, and unusual community in this age. It is a matter of history, that communities similar in some ways to ours, have tended to be vulnerable to powerfulorganizations, groups and institutions wanting to push forward their own plans to fulfill their own agendas, withoutregard for the impacts on the lives of those in the specific location, and too often money is the driving force, and/orthe need for infrastructure. TENASKA, a multi-billion dollar energy storage company is financing this proposal/project. They are in thisbecause there is an enormous amount of money to be made for all.Perhaps they believe we will not speak up, will just let them run over us.Their name is on the pre-application proposal. Just offering a few snipets of background information that you might be interested in. One last comment. Most BESS, are adjacent to sub-stations, not a mile away. Most BESS of this magnitude are in isolated locations. I have attached an image of the proposal as it would sit behind our homes. Each home is 800 - 1000 sq ft.It dwarfs our community. We might eventually need one of these systems in Renton, but not in a location, regardless of how flat it is, thatcontains Zone 1 APA sole source aquifer, a wetland, 2 documented streams, slide hazard, and dense woodland, notto mention the wild-life corridor, and across the street from the Cedar River.Bellevue apparently needs this now.My question is why aren't they pursuing it? Instead they are pursuing us. Thank you again for your time.Respectfully.Nicola Robinson.
