THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
AESI arrived as requested to observe new footing subgrades, north grading area progress, water line progress, and subfloor plumbing
progress.
North Grading Area:
The stockpile area is being used to dry soils excavated from the water line, and the water line is being backfilled with a mixture of
ballast rock and soil. Aside from the area used to aerate soil excavated from the water line the stockpile area is no longer in use. Fill
placed int the fill area is still being aerated in preparation for later compaction.
Water Line:
Water line progress to the south continued. A segment of water line excavated yesterday was backfilled with a combination of ballast
rock and native soil that was too coarse for densometer testing. Fill was placed in lifts and qualitatively observed with a hand probe
and visually and appears adequate to support the planned fire lane in our opinion.
Building Footings
A small area of additional new footing was prepared today in Area D as shown below. The footing subgrade consisted of native soils,
was firm and unyielding and suitable for structural support in our opinion, and was blanketed with a thin layer of crushed ballast as a
working surface.
Subfloor Plumbing
One relateively long north – south run of plumbing approximately 1.5 feet deep was backfilled with crushed ballast rock. The backfill
area noted below was firm and unyielding and suitable for floor support in our opinion. A second area of plumbing was excavated and
piping was underway, no backfill was placed during our visit.
