THE FOLLOWING WAS NOTED:
AESI arrived as requested to observe north grading area progress, water line progress, capillary break and vapor barrier progress in
Building Area D, and footing and subfloor plumbing progress in Building Area C. Sketches follow the notes below outlining the areas
discussed.
North Grading Area:
The northeast portion of the north grading area is still being aerated and is approximately 8 inches below blue flags on grade stakes.
No compaction was done during our site visit, aeration continues, progress generally looks good and the area should be rechecked
when the current lift has been dried sufficiently to be compacted.
Rock Placement (North Grading Area):
A portion of the north grading area was being capped with approximately 8 inches of imported crushed rock ballast rock to reach blue
flags on grade stakes. No compaction was completed during our visit but the soil subgrade in this area was previously checked and
appeared firm and unyielding, and equipment being used to place rock did not cause any rutting or yielding. Recheck when rock is
compacted.
Stockpile (North Grading Area):
During our last visit excavated soil from the water line installation was being aerated at this location. A small working aeration pile
remains but no work was actively underway in this area during our visit.
Yielding Area (North Grading Area):
An area near the east bus loop was observed to be yielding under construction traffic today as noted on the sketch below. This area
appears to be partly under future landscaping and partly under future paving. Paving in this area is not planned for some time. Drying
during summer weather is expected to improve the yielding conditions. We recommend that this area be reassessed prior to paving
to verify that conditions are suitable for paving in that portion of the area where paving is planned. No immediate action is required
unless it causes difficulty for construction access activities.
Water Line:
Water line progress continued toward the south from previously completed pipe placement. Soil cover required over the pipe and
bedding in this area to reach subgrade is approximately 3 feet. Pipe laying and bedding was underway and ballast rock was staged for
backfill but no backfill was completed during our site visit.
Building Footings Area C:
A small area of additional new footing was prepared today in Area C as shown below. The footing subgrade consisted of native soils,
was firm and unyielding and suitable for structural support in our opinion, and was blanketed with a thin layer of crushed ballast as a
working surface.

FIELD REPORT
Subfloor Plumbing Area C:
Several subfloor plumbing pipes were backfilled in the noted area to shallow depths of typically around 2 feet. Backfill was ballast
rock that is not testable with the nuclear densometer. Based on T probing and visual observations the plumbing backfill completed
today in the noted area is firm and unyielding and suitable for support of floor slab in our opinion.
Capillary Break and Vapor Barrier, Area D:
Portions of the capillary break and vapor barrier were completed in Area D today as noted in the sketch below. The capillary break
consisted of clean (no fines) crushed chip rock approximately ¾ inch in diameter. Capillary break and vapor barrier completed today
in the noted areas appeared consistent with project plans and our recommendations in our opinion.
