Renton School District is building a kindergarten through fifth grade urban school with flexible learning spaces to satisfy its growing enrollments. Timeline: Fall 2016 - September 2018 CarMax Renton New 20,000 SF showroom, office, and service center within a 12-acre site for CarMax, the nation’s largest retailer of used vehicles. The Renton CarMax will be the first Puget Sound area store for the company. Timeline: Spring 2017 - Winter 2017 Group Health Campus 29-acre campus with four buildings built in two phases. Phase I opened in November 2016 with two buildings totaling nearly 247,000 SF of office, administration, lab, warehouse, and pharmacy fulfillment. Phase II consists of 258,000 SF of general office (both phases +/-1,200 employees). Timeline: Phase II March 2016 - September 2017 IKEA Renton New two-level, 399,000 SF replacement store that will feature an updated and enhanced shopping experience, and the largest rooftop solar array in Washington State (+/- 50 new employees). The Renton IKEA is the company’s only Washington State store. Timeline: October 2015 - February 2017 Hampton Inn & Suites New five-story hotel with 110 rooms and underground parking. Amenities include indoor pool, roof-top deck, outdoor plaza, restaurant, and fitness room. Timeline: September 2015 - Spring 2017 12Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport New 12-story hotel with 347 luxury rooms, fine dining restaurant, bar/lounge, indoor pool, day spa, and fitness facilities. Seco Development’s premier project will include 43,000 SF conference center and open-air wedding/special event facilities. Timeline: October 2014 - June 2017 11Southport on Lake Washington Office Campus Three new, nine-story buildings consisting of 730,000 SF of Class “A” office space featuring flexible, large floor plates. Seco Development is building this campus adjacent to the Hyatt Regency Hotel. It will include over 2,100 structured parking spaces with access from podium lobbies. Timeline: January 2016 - Fall 2018 10Marriott Residence Inn New five-story hotel with 146 rooms and underground/surface parking. Amenities include breakfast area, bar, laundry, and fitness room. Timeline: February 2017 - June 2018 7Valley Medical Center Office Building New five-story, 160,000 SF medical office building with a cancer clinic, radiation treatment areas, outpatient surgery clinic, general office space, and a 1,136-space parking garage expansion. Valley was named one of the Best Hospitals in Washington State by U.S. News and World Report in 2015. Timeline: September 2017 - October 2018 8Sunset Terrace Apartments New six-story building with 110 residential units and 2,000 SF of street front retail space. Colpitts Development is developing the market-rate project as part of the Sunset Area Transformation Plan, which also includes the adjacent Renton Highlands Library and a three-acre neighborhood park. Timeline: Spring 2017 - Fall 2018 1The Lofts at Second and Main New six-story building with 101 residential units and 4,000 SF of street front retail space. Cosmos Development is building Downtown’s first market-rate residential project since the Great Recession. Timeline: August 2015 - Spring 2017 2Renton Commons New six-story building with 48 affordable residential units. Low Income Housing Institute’s newest project will feature a multi-purpose room, community kitchen, and outdoor play area for children.
