Brief Summary of Outreach Methods and What We Heard from the Community
Project Address: 900 Lake Washington Blvd N, Renton, WA 98056
Brief Description: This project proposes completion of the southerly portion of the Southport
Development commercial office campus at 900 Lake Washington Blvd. N in
Renton, WA. As a 1.25 million sq. ft. office expansion featuring 50,000 sq. ft. of
retail space, “Southport West” will be the first impression of this important
northern gateway to Renton and to Southport, and will contribute to the high-
quality campus, offering architecturally attractive buildings serving the Renton
community—including its residents, workers and visitors. Visually attractive
offices, retail space, and curated landscaping will call attention to a quality
development.

Brief Summary of Outreach Methods
Public Notice
• Choice: LETTER
• Requirement: The applicant shall send by regular mail a written notice announcing the neighborhood
meeting to property owners within three hundred feet (300') of the property subject to the proposed
development including date, time, and location of the meeting and briefly discuss the nature and location
of the proposal. The notice shall be mailed not less than ten (10) calendar days and no more than forty
(40) calendar days prior to the meeting date. The mailing list shall be obtained by the applicant and based
on the most recent property tax assessment rolls of the King County Department of Assessments.
• What we did: Created a one-page letter with online community meeting details, project background, and
required outreach language and mailed to 11 property owners located within three hundred feet (300') of
the property site, as well as five additional property owners, one additional commercial business, and two
neighborhood groups suggested by the City of Renton. Flyer included in Appendix A.
• Date completed: June 24, 2022
Neighborhood Meeting Outreach
• Choice: COMMUNITY MEETING CONFERENCE CALL
• Requirement: A required neighborhood meeting shall occur after a pre-application meeting and before
submittal of applicable permit applications. The meeting shall occur on a weekday evening, excluding
Friday and federally-recognized holidays. The meeting shall start no earlier than 5:00 p.m. and conclude no
later than 9:00 p.m. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, all public meetings must be held virtually (via Zoom).
• What we did: Held an online Community Meeting conference call event, open to the public, publicized through
letter and a project website from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. on July 7, 2022. Neighborhood Outreach Summary including
comments shared included in Appendix A.
• Date completed: July 7, 2022

• Choice: PROJECT WEBSITE
• Requirement: The applicant shall prepare and make available the following materials (if applicable) for
review and discussion at the public meeting. Copies of presentation materials shall be offered to
attendees. i. A conceptual site plan/plat layout showing buildings, road layout, landscape, parking, open
space areas, and abutting properties; ii. An aerial photograph showing the subject property and abutting
properties; and iii. Other materials as determined by the Administrator.
• What we did: Developed presentation including rendering as requested by City planner and reviewed in
meeting. Project website also established with presentation materials. Publicized website via letter.

more and provide comments surrounding a potential new project located at 900 Lake Washington Boulevard N in
Renton, Wash.

which proposes construction of a commercial office and retail building at 900 Lake Washington Boulevard N in Renton, Wash.
We will host an Online Neighborhood Meeting via Zoom to answer questions and respond to neighborhood
comments and suggestions at the following date and time:

As our neighbors, it is important for us to engage directly with you as we begin thinking about the design and
approach for this project. The intent of this meeting is to facilitate an informal discussion between the project
developer and the neighbors regarding the project. While required by the City of Renton, this meeting is not
conducted by the City of Renton and is in addition to any future public hearing or public comment opportunities
available under City of Renton development review processes. Our goal at this meeting is for the project team and their architects to share details surrounding the vision and approach for this proposed new project in the
neighborhood, as well as listen to further comments or questions you may have.
About the Project: “Southport West” is the completion of the southerly portion of the Southport
