The responses may be considered along with all other information furnished to prospective bidders for the purpose of bidding on the project. The use of information provided in these Questions and Answers is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions nor excuse the contractor from full compliance with the contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given and any such subsequent response or addenda should be taken into consideration when submitting a bid for the project. 1. Question: Are you able to send a plan holder's list, or a list of contractors who have expressed interest in the project? Answer: The Current Bidders List for this project can be accessed at the following link: http://bxwa.com/bxwa_reg/bidders.php?storefront=bxwa&project_num=2022- 002754 2. Question: It is stated that work must start on or after October 1st. When is the latest that work would be able to start (ie can project be started in Q1 of 2023)? Answer: The work on this project must be completed by March 31, 2023. Any negotiation of project start date would be a discussion for after the bid is awarded. The start date is determined by how quickly the bid can be awarded, how quickly an agreement can be executed, and then the Notice to Proceed (NTP) is typically worked out with the contractor to maximize working days. 3. Question: Section 46 61 15 - 3.4.C - Sampling of installed media is generally not recommended. Once wetted, the properties will change. The referenced standard: AWWA B604, does not advise sampling of installed media. We can send a sample of the material that was loaded into the truck with the delivery driver for analysis. Answer: In-Place Sampling of the GAC media, as described in Paragraph 3.4C of Section 46 61 15, will not be required if Pre-shipment Verification is performed to the satisfaction of the Owner and a sample of the material that was loaded into the Page 2 of 2 delivery truck is provided separately for analysis. The Pre-shipment Verification must include a test report that contains a statement certifying that the samples were taken from the media to be furnished for this project and the GAC media to be delivered complies with the applicable provisions of AWWA B604. The City will be issuing Addendum #1 to modify Tech Spec 46 61 15 for clarification on the In-Place Sampling requirement. 4. Question: The Centaur specs identified in the bid documents match Centaur exactly, except for one item. Centaur is a media that is designed for removal of H2S, but the stated H2S Capacity of 0.1 g H2S/mL GAC is not actually specification for the media and is not something that is tested for. We would like to request that this spec be removed. Answer: This request to remove the H2S Capacity specification is approved. The City will be issuing Addendum #1 to modify Tech Spec 46 61 15 to remove the H2S Capacity specification. End of Questions and Answers (8/9/2022)
