In accordance with your authorization, Cobalt Geosciences, LLC has prepared this letter to
discuss risks associated with the proposed construction.
In general, auger-cast pile placement does not result in significant vibrations to the surrounding
areas and soils. It is our opinion that the construction can be completed without affecting the
adjacent water lines. This will require the use of auger-cast piles for foundation support along
with specific structural fills in utility trenches, slab-on-grade, and pavement areas. The type of
structural fill will need to be clean angular rock or lean mixed concrete. These types of fill do not
require vibratory equipment to achieve compaction. We can provide additional input upon
request.
