GENERAL NOTES
1. ALL MATERIALS AND WORKMANSHIP SHALL BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE REQUIREMENTS
OF THE LATEST STATE OF WASHINGTON DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION STANDARD
SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION AND THE CITY/COUNTY PUBLIC
ROAD STANDARDS UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
2. IT WILL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CONTACT ALL UTILITY COMPANIES TO
COORDINATE CONSTRUCTION. ALL UTILITY RELOCATION WORK SHALL BE AT THE EXPENSE OF
THE APPLICANT AND MUST BE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE STANDARDS OF THE CITY/COUNTY.
3. BURIED UTILITIES ARE SHOWN IN THEIR APPROXIMATE LOCATION. THE CONTRACTOR
SHALL HAVE THE UTILITIES VERIFIED ON THE GROUND PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION.
4. ANY REVISIONS TO THESE PLANS MUST BE REVIEWED AND APPROVED BY THE CITY/COUNTY
DEVELOPMENT ENGINEERING SECTION PRIOR TO ANY IMPLEMENTATION IN THE FIELD.
5. A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION
IS IN PROGRESS.
6. BEFORE WORKING IN THE CITY/COUNTY RIGHT-OF-WAY, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL:
A. OBTAIN A GENERAL PERMIT FROM THE CITY/COUNTY.
B. SUBMIT A FINANCIAL GUARANTEE TO THE CITY/COUNTY TO ASSURE SATISFACTORY
COMPLETION OF THE WORK.
C. PROVIDE PROOF OF LIABILITY INSURANCE IN AN AMOUNT REQUIRED BY THE CITY/COUNTY.
7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE APPLICANT'S ENGINEER IN THE EVENT OR DISCOVERY
OF POOR SOILS, STANDING GROUNDWATER, OR SEVERE DISCREPANCIES FROM SOIL LOG
DESCRIPTIONS AS NOTED ON THESE PLANS.
8. ISSUANCE OF A SITE DEVELOPMENT PERMIT BY THE CITY/COUNTY DOES NOT IMPLY OR SIGNIFY
THAT THE PROPOSED WORK COMPLIES WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF OR IS ALLOWED BY OTHER
ORDINANCES, REGULATIONS, OR REQUIREMENTS, OR STATE OR FEDERAL LAWS. CONTRACTOR WILL
ACCEPT SOLE RESPONSIBILITY AND LIABILITY FOR COMPLIANCE WITH ALL STATE, FEDERAL, AND
LOCAL RULES, REQUIREMENTS, LAWS, ORDINANCES, AND REGULATIONS.
9. THE CITY/COUNTY IS AUTHORIZED TO MAKE INSPECTIONS AND TAKE SUCH ACTIONS AS REQUIRED
TO ENFORCE THESE REGULATIONS. THE CITY/COUNTY REPRESENTATIVE SHALL PRESENT PROPER
CREDENTIALS AND MAKE A REASONABLE EFFORT TO CONTACT THE PROPERTY OWNER BEFORE
ENTERING ONTO PRIVATE PROPERTY.
10. SHOULD THE CITY/COUNTY BECOME AWARE OF CONDITIONS THAT INVALIDATE THE ORIGINAL DESIGN
DATA USED TO OBTAIN THE PERMIT OR DETERMINE THAT THE APPLICANT IS NOT COMPLYING WITH
THE CONDITIONS OF THE PERMIT OR APPROVED PLANS, THE CITY/COUNTY MAY REVOKE THE ORIGINAL
PERMIT AND/OR ORDER WORK STOPPED ON THE PROJECT. THEY MAY REQUIRE THE APPLICANT TO
RESUBMIT INFORMATION OR PLANS FOR REVIEW AND APPROVAL AND APPLY FOR A NEW PERMIT.
