Subject: Renton Permitting Office - Project Name: Hyodo 2709 NE 23rd Pl
Good Afternoon Brittany,
+ cc'ing my neighbors surrounding our home as well for full transparency on the issue at hand
We have communicated in the past regarding our neighbors, The Hyodo family, building an ADU on the
back of their residential lot. We are definitely opposed to this development and would like to go on
record with the city to state this fact, since this is a conditional use permit request and there is an open
comment window.
I'm attaching documents that we have that state the Restrictions, Conditions and Covenants that restrict
vehicular access to our lots (1 through 16) to NE 23rd Street. I'm including the plat map which shows the
Hyodo's lot as #11, our home is #10.
Other areas of concern are the following:
· Effect on Adjacent Properties: Impact to our property from non-vegetated surfaces that will create
run off from rainwater and snow, as our property slopes down from their property.
· Parking: Parking is already limited on our street
CAUTION: This email originated from outside the City of Renton. Do not click links, reply or open attachments unless
you know the content is safe.
2
· Noise: Disruption of daily life, many of us work from home - Noise Issues - during construction,
as well as long term noise impact by adding household members
· Use: If the current owner decides to sell, who monitors the use of the ADU as being the primary
owners
· Appropriate Location: Referenced above with restrictions to access from NE 23rd Street
· Traffic: Pedestrians walking and cars driving in the area where there is a sidewalk and not regularly used by
cars. You cannot see to the left and right due to the fence line that is touching the sidewalk, so very poor visibility,
as there is no line of sight.
· Compatibility: An ADU is not compatible to neighborhood, especially with no access for vehicles to access from
the back of the lot with vehicles. There are 'No Parking' signs on the North side of NE 23rd Street as well.
Regards,
John & Heather Oberto
