The responses to bidder inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendum to the contract, are not
part of the contract and are provided for the bidders’ convenience only. The responses may be
considered along with all other information furnished to prospective bidders for the purpose of bidding
on the project. The use of information provided in the responses or bidder inquires is not to be
construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions nor excuse the contractor from full compliance with
the contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may
affect or vary response previously given and any such subsequent response of addenda should be taken
into consideration when submitting a bid for the project.
Questions and Answers No. 7
1. Question: The PTZ Camera System: is this a different system then the one on the permanent signal
systems? If so why would there be any modification to this system?
Answer: The PTZ camera system is not a different system than the one on the permanent signal
system.
2. Question: Portable Temporary Signal System with Mast Arm: does this include all the work on
pages 33‐35 and it appears that we are using some of the old and new permanent signal system
parts to complete this work? Is this a correct assumption?
Answer: Per Special Provision 8‐20.5 Payment, the lump sum Contract prices for modification or
replacement of existing traffic signal and illumination systems shall include the furnishing and
installation of temporary signalization during the various stages of construction (refer to the
Temporary Signalization Plans, sheets 33‐35), except for work covered by the “Portable
Temporary Signal System with Mast Arm” bid item.
Per Special Provision 8‐20.5 Payment, the lump sum Contract price for “Portable Temporary Signal
System with Mast Arm” shall be full payment for all labor, materials, tools and equipment
necessary or incidental to the furnishing and installation of a complete portable temporary signal
system with mast arm described in these Plans (refer to Temporary Signalization Plan sheet 34 for
South 2nd Street, Construction Note #1) and Section 8‐20.3(14)I of these Specifications.
Yes, we are using some of the old and new permanent signal system parts to complete this
temporary signalization work.
