(AESI) was onsite at 7:00am at the request of the general contractor to observe a proof roll within the repaired areas of the southern parking lot and adjacent curb subgrades above the StormTech stormwater vault. AESI was also on site to observe soil conditions and concrete pouring within light pole base excavations along Duvall Avenue NE. While onsite we met with representatives from both Cornerstone and Continental Dirt Contractors. Proof Roll: Upon arrival, AESI observed contractor perform a proof roll with a fully loaded front loader within the areas of repaired subgrade in the southern parking lot and along adjacent curb subgrades (Fig 1). AESI observed repaired subgrade was dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for support of the proposed curbs (Photo 1). AESI recommends proof rolling remaining areas of the southern parking lot before placement of asphalt treated base to verify remaining areas of the southern parking lot are suitably dense and unyielding. Light Pole Base Observations AESI observed contractor continuing to place rebar cages and form boards within the 36 to 48-inch diameter boreholes along Duvall Avenue NE for light pole bases in preparation for concrete pouring (Photo 2). AESI observed contractor had pumped water from the boreholes and removed sediment from minor caving near the bottom 2 feet of the boreholes as needed before pouring concrete. AESI recommended pumping water from the excavations before placement of the rebar cages and concrete if encountered in remaining light pole basins. Contractor relayed a vacuum truck would be utilized to remove groundwater and sediment sloughed from the sides of the excavations as needed. AESI will return for further observations and testing as requested by the client. 16 Date Project Name Project No. Report No. 11/17/2022 Renton ES 16 20180398E003 071 Page 2 of 3 FIELD REPORT Figure 1: Approximate locations of proof rolled areas 16 Date Project Name Project No. Report No. 11/17/2022 Renton ES 16 20180398E003 071 Page 3 of 3 FIELD REPORT Photo 1: Proof roll of repaired parking lot subgrade above stormtech vault Photo 2: Light pole base with rebar cage and formwork in preparation for pouring of concrete
