HomeMy WebLinkAboutAddendum - 5AMENDMENT NO. _5_ TO AGREEMENT FOR PHILIP ARNOLD PARK SITE IMPROVEMENTS THIS AMENDMENT, dated for reference purposes only as _____________, 2023, is by and between the City of Renton (the “City”), a Washington municipal corporation, and HBB Landscape Architecture, Inc. (“Consultant”), a Washington corporation. The City and the Consultant are referred to collectively in this Amendment as the “Parties.” Once fully executed by the Parties, this Amendment is effective as of the last date signed by both parties. Whereas, the City engaged the services of the Consultant under Agreement CAG-19-360, dated December 12, 2019, to provide necessary services for the Philip Arnold Site Improvements (referred to herein as the “Agreement”); Whereas, the Parties wish to amend the Agreement to change the scope of work, change the time for performance, and change the compensation in order to provide additional professional engineering services for the Philip Arnold Park site improvements. NOW THEREFORE, It is mutually agreed upon that CAG-19-360 is amended as follows: 1.Scope of Work: Section 1, Scope of Work, is amended to add work as specified in Exhibit A-5, which is attached and incorporated herein. 2.Time of Performance: Section 3, Time of Performance, is amended. All Work shall be performed by no later than August 31, 2023. 3. Compensation: Section 4, Compensation, is amended so that the maximum amount of compensation payable to Consultant is increased by $_3,000.00_ from $_515,822.20 to $_518,822.20_, plus any applicable state and local sales taxes. The additional compensation shall be paid based upon Work actually performed according to the rate(s) or amounts specified in Exhibit A-5, which is attached and incorporated herein. 4.All terms of the Agreement not explicitly modified herein shall remain in full force and effect and such terms shall apply to Work performed according to this Amendment as if fully set forth herein. (HBB) 2101 – 4th Avenue, Unit 1800 Seattle, Washington 98121 Attention: Mr. Dean Koonts, ASLA, CPD Subject: Proposal for Limited On-call Construction Phase Geotechnical Engineering Services Philip Arnold Park Improvements Renton, Washington Dear Dean: Zipper Geo Associates, LLC (ZGA) appreciates the opportunity to submit this proposal for providing limited construction phase geotechnical engineering services for the above-referenced project. This letter outlines our understanding and assumptions about the project, as well as our proposed scope of services. Our understanding is based on experience with the site during the design phase and recent review of contractor submittals. PROPOSED SCOPE OF CONSTRUCTION PHASE SERVICES We understand that PND and MTC are currently providing construction observation and testing services . However, you have indicated that there may be some occasions when ZGA’s expertise may be useful in the event that unanticipated soil conditions are encountered or during installation of helical anchors for a new pedestrian boardwalk and/or installation of footings and slabs for the picnic shelters. Based upon our experience with other projects of a similar nature and information provided by HBB, we anticipate that our services will include, but may not be limited to, the tasks listed below. •Review of the approved plans and specifications; •Site visit completed on an on-call basis for purposes of observing site conditions during excavation and structural fill placement and compaction; •Performing field density tests; Exhibit A-5 Philip Arnold Park Improvements Project 2294.01 14 December 2022 19019 36th Avenue West, Suite E Lynnwood, WA 98036 (425)582-9928 Page 2 •Laboratory testing in support of field density testing; •Observation of helical pier installation; •Contractor submittal review; •Preparation of daily field reports following each site visit, field report review, and weekly field report distribution; •On-call consulting as requested; and •Project administration. We will provide construction phase services on an on-call basis, visiting the site as requested by HBB. Please note that our proposed scope of services does not include special inspections and testing of reinforced concrete or steel. Our staff members will not be responsible for survey or determinations of line or grade, nor will we be responsible for site safety. COMPENSATION Services described herein, as well as services not described herein that are provided at your request, will be invoiced on a time and expenses basis in accordance with our current Subconsultant Agreement dated 17 December 2019. As per your request, we suggest assigning a budget of $3,000.00 for the on-call services CLOSURE We appreciate the opportunity to present this letter and look forward to working with HBB during construction.
