The applicant proposes to build rental garage units
for the storage of boat , trailers , recreational veh-
icles , etc . Power to the units will be limited so that
no power tools could be used for working in the garages .
No restroom facilities or water on the site are pro-
posed . The applicant proposes to build one unit at
first , and if it is successful will construct an additional
3- 1 /2 units . Mr . Walter Wiechmann , one of the applicants ,
explained the planned development to the Commission
Chairman Teegarden requested a determination from the
Commission if the use is an allowable in a B- 1 zone .
He suggested the proposed site be reviewed on the field
trip , as well as a similar facility at Issaquah .

The Assistant Planning Director reviewed the site plan
and noted that the Park Department had requested action
at the Administrative Meeting if at all possible .
Disscussed ensued on the application . Commissioner
Seymour asked if the staff and recommended any changes ,
and the Assistant Planning Director said no changes
were proposed by staff . Mola stated that these re-
creation buildings are attractive and he did not feel
they are detrimental to nearby property owners .
ACTION :
MOVED BY ROSS , SECONDED BY MOLA, THAT THE PLANNING COM-
MISSION APPROVE THE PROPOSED PARK & RECREATION DEPART-
MENT SITE PLAN FOR THE KENNYDALE PARK RECREATION BUILD-
ING .
On the question , Scholes expressed concern regarding the
outside lighting and wondered if sufficient lighting
would be provided to prevent vandalism .
Pending MOTION CARRIED UNANIMOUSLY .
3 , ADMINISTRATIVE:
A) COMMITTEE REPORT :
1 . Zoning Committee regarding MP -L and MP-H Ordin-
ances .
Chairman Teegarden requested Norman Ross , Chair-
man of the Zoning Committee , to comment on the
subject ordinances . Chairman Ross noted that
the Planning Department staff had prepared a
letter which is attached to the most recent
revision of the ordinances . This revision is
th.e result of five meetings of the Committee .
Gary Kruger , Associate Planner , at t#e Chairman
Teegarden ' s request , explained the reasons for
proposing two additional manufacturing park
zones : to establish adequate setbacks , provide
for installation and maintenance of landscaping
and site plan reviews . He further noted these

The Planning Commission at its meeting of March 14 , 1973 ,
reviewed the site plan of the proposed shelter building
in Kennydale Lions Park , submitted by your department ,
and unanimously approved this location .
