Joe Farah of Renton's Surface Water Management division had already asked that I get concurrence from WSDOT regarding the work in their ROW. Please see the email from WSDOT Engineer Duffy McColloch below. I trust that it provides the acknowledgement that you need. Hi John, Per RCW 47.24 only certain aspects of managed access state routes within city limits are under WSDOT review and approval jurisdiction. From the presentation yesterday it appears that there will be no need for WSDOT review/permitting for the work within SR 169 right of way. I can’t speak for the city on what permitting requirements they have. I believe that I recall you stating that no WSDOT review would be required for our upcoming geotechnical boring and utility potholing work that will occur within the WSDOT ROW at this project site along SR169. However, we are required to submit a City of Renton “Master Land Use Application” for this project. It is signed by Joe Farah of the City of Renton as “authorized representative, as Renton manages the ROW under agreement with WWSDOT. In signing the application, Joe has requested that we get some kind of acknowledgement from WSDOT that work would be also be within their ROW. He noted that an email from WSDOT acknowledging that they know the city will be issuing a shoreline/critical areas exemption for this boring would be sufficient for this submittal. Can you do that?
