Dear Department of Community & Economic Development, I am
writing to express my concern regarding the potential drainage issues
associated with the recent short plat approval being considered in our
community. As a resident and concerned citizen, I believe that it is
essential to bring this matter to your attention and request that you
take appropriate action to address the issue. The proposed short plat
approval in our community raises significant concerns about potential
drainage problems. While the Arborist's Report, Drainage Report,
Geotechnical, and Wetland Assessment studies appear to have been
requested, additional drainage studies may be warranted to consider
the potential environmental impact on our community. The resulting
construction and development could potentially cause significant
damage to the surrounding homes, natural resources and water
systems, leading to flooding and other related problems. My
residence in particular has been subject to what appears underwater
drainage issues. And, we have had to take costly measures to address.
I strongly believe that the community deserves a thorough and
extensive review of the drainage systems and potential environmental
impact before any further development is approved. It is essential that
the Department of Community & Economic Development takes
action to address this matter in a timely and efficient manner. The
potential consequences of failing to do so could be catastrophic, not
only for the immediate area but for the surrounding communities as
well. I urge you to take swift action to address this matter and ensure
that the necessary precautions are taken to protect our community's
natural resources and drainage systems. Thank you for your attention
to this matter, and I look forward to hearing from you regarding the
steps that will be taken to address this critical issue. I am at your
