Contract Amendments/Addenda
1. Applicability:
Amendments to existing non-public works service agreements.
2. Process:
Amendments to existing contracts should be negotiated per the underlying contract. When feasible,
amendments should not be retroactive and instead be executed prior to the changes taking effect
(e.g., prior to exceeding the contractual not-to-exceed amount, prior to the performance dates
passing, and prior to performing an extended scope of work). Amendments should generally not be
used to extend an agreement to an unrelated project for which use of a new selection process and/or
stand-alone contract would be more appropriate.
Amendments for time extensions do not require city council approval.
