We are ok with tack welding the j-box lids but the contractor will need to open the J-boxes for us in order to complete our inspection. Tack welds must be sprayed with a rust inhibitor. (see photos). It looks like they were cutting the wires with the idea of coming back to pull the wire out?? Or they may have been scared off?? The first open box was across the street from the model home and then each box going uphill and into the cul da sac were open with cut wires. Mardy can you have one of your guys come by and determine the extent of damage? We’ll have to get these repaired asap. Pat, Ann, Pat, we have had this issue on other plats in the past and our fix has been to “tack weld” the lids in one spot. This prevents the thieve from accessing the wire but the spot weld can be ground off with a small angle grinder, normally carried by an average service person. Can we secure the lids (tack weld) on the Tiffany electrical boxes? Let me know as soon as you can and I will get it scheduled.
