Ann,
1. The ventilation pipes at the four corners of the vault is a requirement in the 2009 manual, in additions to access risers. I do not support eliminating the note. Due to the
size of this vault and the many different chambers, the ventilation is needed in addition to needing to have the ability to utilize the accesses. If a access riser is being used for
ventilation, it cannot be used for access.
2. I would need to see where they are proposing to install inside drops and the distance for the drop inlet to the outlet from the CB. We prefer the external drop structures for
maintenance purposes, but depending upon how the engineer proposes to design the drop (i.e Tee inside of the CB?) then inside the CB may be ok.

Subject: Tiffany Park - Inside Drops for Storm
1. There is a comment regarding ventilation pipes on the detention vault. There was a note about ventilation pipes that can be removed from the plan as this may cause some confusion.
My understanding is that the drainage manual requires ventilation pipes on underground vaults, however, you can also use the access lids to ventilate the vault. In this case I think
we have more than enough access lids to adequately allow ventilation before maintenance personnel access the vault. In my opinion we shouldn’t have to provide additional ventilation
pipes. Can you please confirm this?
2. The applicant is asking about using inside drops for both the sewer and storm. This would definitely help on a few of those steep runs that tie into the deeper main runs.
Is there any concern with having the upstream pipe come in at a higher appropriate elevations?
