Limitations: The presence of our field representative at the site is to provide our client with a source of professional advice, opinions, and recommendations based upon the field representative’s observations and testing of the contractor’s work. Our services do not include supervision or direction of the contractor, their employees, or agents. Geotechnical recommendations for
obtaining project objectives may be made by our representatives; however, direction of the actual work should come from the owner or contractor, as appropriate. The contractor is responsible
for complying with the contract documents at all times, regardless of the presence of our field representative. Jobsite safety, including compliance with all applicable state or federal regulations,
is the sole responsibility of the contractor. The observations, recommendations, and conclusions provided in this field report are preliminary until reviewed by the ESNW project manager.
As requested by the client, ESNW rep was on site to observe the installation of the 5/8-inch washed rock
on Road A subgrade. While on site, the following was observed:
5/8th Washed Rock Installation:
Upon arrival on site, ESNW rep observed the general contractor installing an approximately one-foot-
thick lift of 5/8-inch washed rock in the subgrade of Road A. This is placed directly over top the
approximately two-foot-thick layer of imported organic soil. Both layers were installed per the approved plans as part of the Road A permeable pavement system. The general contractor was using a dozer and
vibratory drum roller to grade and compact the 5/8-inch washed rock into place. Please see attached
pictures and map.
