To whom it may concern, My wife and I have lived in Kennydale for
over seven years and absolutely love this neighborhood. As housing
needs change along with the neighborhood, we see a lot of infill
development and appreciate the new vibrant feel. I know a few years
back there was a change to the zoning code to protect a portion of our
neighborhood from some of the super large homes to be build in
portions of lower Kennydale. Unfortunately, we feel this has hurt a
lot of our neighbors as the requirements have hindered families from
accomplishing their housing goals. There are so many small homes
that need to be improved, added on or rebuilt to accommodate
growing families. The previous zoning code allowed for this to take
place and to see homes one street be accepted and the next street over
not to, seems unfair. I know that each property is very specific and
may require flexibility, however, the homeowner should be allowed
to go through the process and get a reasonable response that other
neighbors see repeatedly. We live just across from one of these
exceptions all our neighbors approved this to take place. We both
love seeing the neighborhood better and believe the majority of our
