I have just become aware of this Ussery Variance request so amsubmitting this short comment as the deadline to do so is upon us. Ifind it hard to believe that allowing setback variances on all sides ofthis property is in the spirit of the previous decrease from R8 to R6zoning designation. If set backs are allowed to be reduced, that hasthe same effect of increasing the mass (in a sense, density) ofbuildings and decreasing the surface area for runoff which is alreadya significant issue on this hillside. Allowing this size of a dwellingwill drastically deteriorate the view from neighboring and uphillproperties. If existing rules are constantly able to be "changed" byvariance-granting, then they have very little effectiveness. Alsobuyers should not go forth thinking that variances will beforthcoming to their benefit singularly and to the detriment of theirneighbors. I have previously commented on how the current heightallowances in Lower Kennydale have resulted in a substantialnegative impact on the character of this neighborhood and the valueof the view. Allowing larger percentages of land to be covered by tallbuildings will just exacerbate this and the drainage issues. Therefore,I say "NO" to granting this request. Respectfully submitted, JoyceSegur
