Based on review of the checklist associated with this project, the Department of Ecology (Ecology) has the following comments: The proposed project is located near a property listed on the Model Toxics Control Act (MTCA) Confirmed and Suspected Contaminated Sites List. The Lockwood Ind Inc Renton site (cleanup site ID [CSID] 1716) is located at 73 Burnett Ave S. Petroleum and nonhalogenated solvents are confirmed in soil and ground water. The site is being investigated. For additional information about this site, search on the CSID at https://apps.ecology.wa.gov/gsp/SiteSearchPage.aspx. Excavation in the right-of-way might encounter petroleum- or solvent-impacted soil and/or groundwater. Please be prepared to dispose of any impacted materials appropriately and to protect workers from exposure. Thank you for considering these comments from Ecology. If you have any questions or would like to respond to these comments, please contact Priscilla Tomlinson from the Toxics Cleanup Program at (425) 324-0732 or by email at priscilla.tomlinson@ecy.wa.gov.
