SUBJECT: "On Hold" Notice
Southport West / LUA22-000284, SA-M, SA-H, ECF
Dear Mr. Rao,
The Planning Division of the City of Renton accepted the above master application for review on August 15, 2022.
On November 14, 2022, the Environmental Review Committee (ERC) completed their review of the subject project
and issued a threshold Determination of Significance (DS). Subsequently, on February 9, 2023, the City issued a
request for qualifications and proposal (RFQ/P) for a consultant with experience and expertise to develop a project
Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for Southport West with project proposals due no later than March 9, 2023.
One (1) submission to the RFP was received from EA Engineering, Science and Technology, Inc. PBC (EA) on March
9, 2023 and less than two (2) weeks later the city notified Urbancraft Consulting LLC that EA was qualified to
complete the EIS for Southport West.
Most recently, on April 17, 2023, Urbancraft Consulting LLC notified the City to press pause or hold off on starting
Southport West State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA) Services. Therefore, at this time, your project has been
placed “on hold” pending authorization to proceed with SEPA Services. The time to respond to the City shall be
within ninety (90) days of this notice.
