(AESI) was on-site today around 11:30am to perform compaction tests over HMA for the parking lot and to observe driveway subgrade for a nearby residence. HMA Compaction Tests Parking Lot Upon our arrival, Olympic Paving continued placing a 3” lift of HMA over the west side of the parking lot. The HMA was compacted using a mid-sized smooth drum roller and a vibratory plate compactor. AESI performed 6 compaction tests using a nuclear densometer. All tests met or exceeded the minimum specified compaction of 92% of the RICE value. Compaction test results are shown in Table 1 and their approximate locations on Figure 1 below. AESI left the site by the afternoon and will return upon the contractor’s request.
