PR22-000006 Boeing Hiring Signs, LUA22-000216, TP
Dear Mr. Clement:
This office has reviewed your request dated June 7, 2023 (attached) to extend an approved Temporary
Use Permit (File No. LUA22-000216) for a period of one year. The Temporary Use Permit (TUP) will expire
on June 29, 2023.
In your original request, you stated the purpose of the banner signage was to advertise open job positions
at the manufacturing plant during a year-long hiring event occurring as part of a scheduled ramp up in
aircraft production. Due to Boeing’s need to hire additional employees as a result of more aircraft orders,
the hiring event will continue into 2024 and therefore the hiring signage will continue to be used to
advertise. Staff concurs with the applicant’s justification for an extension
Per RMC 4-9-240.O.3, an applicant can request that a permit be valid beyond one year an d for up to five
(5) years at time of application or prior to permit expiration . The applicant is requesting a one-year
extension of the TUP. The one-year extension shall be measured from the expiration date of the original
approval, November 26, 2021. Therefore, the permit extension shall expire on June 29, 2024.
