ED38474 CASE# 23-2096 OF COLLISIONO2/21/23 14:14 NARRATIVE 23-2096 On 02/21/2023 at approximately 1418 hours, I was dispatched to a non-injury and non-blocking vehicle collision in the 700 block of Logan Ave North, within the City Limits of Renton, County of King, State of Washington. Upon my arrival, 1 located both parties in the Top Golf parking lot and confirmed there were no complaints of injury requiring immediate medical response. Upon arrival, I collected each involved party's information and independent involvement leading up to the collision. The driver of Unit#1 stated she was the sole occupant of her vehicle and was attempting to exit a private property parking lot located in the 700 block of Logan Ave North and on the east side of the roadway. The driver of Unit#1 stated that she was intending to make a left-turn out of the parking lot and that she was intending to proceed southbound onto Logan Ave North following the turn. The driver of Unit#1 stated that she checked and believed all northbound traffic on Logan Ave N was clear for Unit#1 to proceed out into the roadway. As Unit#1 proceeded out into the roadway, she was met by a vehicle, Unit#2, which she claimed she did not see due to backed up traffic. The driver of Unit#1 stated that she was unable to avoid the collision after having pulled out into the roadway and that Unit#2 struck the front of Unit#1 subsequently causing significant damage as a result of the collision. The driver of Unit#2 said he was the sole occupant of his vehicle and was traveling northbound in about the 700 block of Logan Ave N in the center-turn-lane. The driver of Unit#2 stated he was intending to continue north to the intersection of N 8th ST to make a left-turn which was another 220 feet away (and under the 300 foot allotment per the RCW for center-turn-lane travel). The driver of Unit#2 stated while approaching the driveway of the private parking lot entrance which Unit#1 was trying to turn out of, he continued going straight ahead. The driver of Unit#2 stated he suddenly noticed Unit#1 turn out into traffic and into the center-turn-lane which Unit#2 was occupying. The driver of Unit#2 stated he tried to avoid the collision by swerving into the oncoming lane of travel but was ultimately unable to avoid the collision and that both vehicles collided in the roadway. Unit#2 suffered significant damage to the front passenger side bumper and front axle as a result of the collision. Based on the above statements, 1 believe that the driver of Unit#1 (Daudt) was the predominant factor for the cause of collision as Daudt is required to comply with RCW 46.61.190(2) which states that every driver of a vehicle approaching the point nearest the intersecting roadway where the driver has a view of approaching traffic on the intersecting roadway before entering the roadway, and after having stopped shall yield the right-of-way to any vehicle in the intersection or approaching on another roadway so closely as to constitute an immediate hazard during the time when such driver is moving across or within the intersection or junction of roadways. Unit#2 was already underway in the roadway and had right of way. Both Unit#1 and Unit#2 had to be impounded due to extensive damage. An exchange of information was provided to all involved parties. I certify (or declare) under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the foregoing is true and correct. Electronically signed by Officer M.
