NARRATIVE
RPD CASE#: 23-4077
On 04/11/2023 at approximately 1923 hours, I was dispatched to 113th Ave SE and SE 166th PL, in
the City of Renton, King County, Washington, for an unknown type collision. The reporting party
advised there was a two-car collision and one of the vehicles was in a retention pond near the
intersection.
Upon arrival I identified Unit 1 as a blue 2003 Honda Accord, bearing WA license plate #CGG8419.
Unit 1 was inside the stormwater pond in water, directly in front of 16603 113th Ave SE. It appeared
as though Unit 1 had gone through the fence at the north end of the pond and the fence had
extensive damage. Unit one sustained damage all around the vehicle.
Unit 2 was identified as a gold 1997 Toyota 4Runner, bearing WA license plate #270KSO.Unit 2 was
parked on the south end of the driveway facing east, along the north end of the stormwater pond. Unit
2 sustained minor damage to the front right headlight.
I contacted the driver of Unit 1, who I identified via her WADL as Trung Thanh Tuyen Le (DOB
04/06/1979). Le advised she was not injured and stated she was trying to park in front of Unit 2 and
when she went to press the brake she accidently pressed on the gas. Le stated she turned the wheel
to the left to avoid hitting Unit 2 and she drove past Unit 2 and hit the fence to the stormwater pond
and landed inside the pond.
I contacted the owner of Unit 2, who I identified via her WADL as Thao Duy Nhat Le Nguyen (DOB
02/22/1978). Nguyen told me Unit 2 was unoccupied at the time of the collision and she did not want
to file a police report. Nguyen told me the accident occurred at approximately 1820 hours and stated
she did not call 911 because she was told a neighbor did. Nguyen also told me she had already
called a tow truck to remove the vehicle from the pond. I advised Nguyen and Le that due to the
vehicle damaging city property I would be taking a report.
I gathered Le and Nguyen's information and provided them with my business card with the case
number on it. I advised Le she was the at fault party and the City of Renton would be in contact with
her.
I took photos of the vehicle and area and later uploaded them onto Axon. The city of Renton property
damage form was later completed. After answering their questions, 1 cleared the scene.
