HomeMy WebLinkAboutTechnical Advisory Committee Meeting #1 - Summary (6/8/2017)Technical Advisory Committee Meeting #1 Summary
bers, who provided information about a pedestri-
an-vehicle crash near Dimmitt middle school. There
was no discussion about equestrian issues.
• Group rides led by Pete Maas through Renton
have similar challenges to those who are less
comfortable in high speed/volume conditions;
also mention of difficulty with wayfinding with-
out a knowledgeable leader.
• There was discussion about how to connect the
regional trails - the Eastside Rail Corridor, Cedar
River Trail, Soos Creek Trail and the Green River
and Interurban Trails that serve the City. Staff
recommended creating a map to illustrate the
existing regional trail systems and lack of regional
trail connectivity in the city.
Comments on Maps:

the plateau
• Crossing Sunset Blvd NE near Harrington is not
easy
• Room for bike lanes on NE Park Drive?
• Problem areas at NE Park Drive freeway ramps
• Gate on Houser Way at Kenworth
• No bike shoulder on NE 3rd Street
• Cycle track or other connection on Factory Ave?
• Big problem area between Rainier Ave and Har-
die Ave (getting through this area N-S)
• Recent vehicle-pedestrian crash at Dimmitt Mid-
dle School
• Transit center connections will be important
• Show connections to Lake to Sound soon to be
under construction

density, bicycle commuting rates,
trail proximity, RapidRide stops,
proximity to parks, and percent of
households with zero vehicles.
