RE: Summary of Application for Minor CUP Revision of LUA02-054 St. Anthony’s Church Master
Plan
St Anthony’s Parish, located at 314 South 4th St Renton, WA 98056, has an existing Conditional
Use Permit under city file number LUA02-054, encompassing a 20-year master plan for
renovation and expansion. While it is our hope to one day see this project to completion, the
current financial climate has not made it possible. In the interim the Catholic Archdiocese of
Seattle has purchased three adjacent parcels in the CM zone, listed below.

The master plan is intended to accommodate existing parishioners, school students, and service
to the community by renovating and expanding current facilities to meet current needs. These
additional properties and their existing buildings have been able to ease the current transitional
phase. The St. Cecelia Music Room, serving the school and Parish was purchased & renovated in
2008. The Law Office has been used for additional office space & meeting rooms since its
purchase in 2010. The third parcel, Vacant office Building, its use has yet to be determined.
However, the proposed use shall be compatible with the general purpose, goals, objectives and
standards of the Comprehensive Plan, the Zoning Ordinance, and any other plan, program, map
of ordinance of the City of Renton. The addition of these adjacent parcels would not change the
proposed scope stated in the existing Conditional Use permit. By unifying the street frontage on
Morris Ave S. it would provide a cohesive footprint for the design and execution of said scope.
The site plan revision submitted reflects the addition of these three properties, along with the
removal of the proposed Rectory site at 215 Whitworth Ave S (7841800090). While 215
Whitworth was part of the original submission, its removal was contingent on the approval of
the existing CUP and was sold in 2007. This revision, if approved, will correct the drawing record.
Sincerely,
Dana Rochex on behalf of St. Anthony Church
