All sediment and other materials in the existing 60-inch x 42-inch CSMP culvert shall be removed and disposed of prior to making connection to the new interceptor system. 2. Manhole 1 shall be furnished with a cast -in -place concrete base to permit maintenance of flow in the existing 42-inch 0 concrete drain until time of connection to the new interceptor system. 3. Manholes 4G, 613, and 6C may be furnished with either cast - in -place or pre -cast bases. 4. Over excavation below normal foundation (bottom of bedding) level and baekfill with foundation and/or bedding mater- ials is required for non -pile supported pipe and structures. Refer to the specifications. 5. Manhole covers shall be of the non -locking type. 6. Ground water levels are seasonal, maximum levels may be assumed at Elevation 25, from Station -0+19 to 1+50, and at Elevation 26 along the remainder of the alignment. Con- tractor shall take precautions to prevent flotation of pipes or manholes. Any damage caused by flotation shall be repaired by the Contractor at no additional cost to the Owner. 7. Prior to connection of existing drains to the new system, approval for connections shall be obtained from the Owner. S. All manholes shall be furnished to support H-20 loadings. 9. The debris barrier shall be as shown on the plans and in the Special Details, except that the barrier shall be fabricated to be removable (rather than secured) and equipped with pulling/lifting eyes to allow removal by light construction equipment (i.e., backhoe) if conditions regvtre. 10. Field locate the Type 27 catch basin at CB #1 to allow connection of 12-inch RCP extension to 42-inch RCP exten- sion. Set finish elevation at existing ground elevation.
