Notes:
I. All Batter Piles (Shown Thus Not Called Out
On Plan Shall Be 4: 12.
2. Estimated Pile Tip Elevation Shall Be -35.0' .
3. Pile Reinforcement & Dowels Shall Be Incidental
To The Cost Of The Pile. (Dowels Shall Be Grade
40 Bars.)
4. 12" dia. piles carry a design load of 70 tons
and 16" dia. piles carry 100 tons; The ultimate
capacities Q derived from the driving formula shall
therefore be 175 tons and 250 tons respectively.
5. End Plate of 12��dia. pile shall be 11/4 thick
and shall be welded to the end of the pipe with a full
penetration weld. All plates shall be A 36 Steel and
welded with E60XX Electrodes. The outside of the
pile shall be prepared for welding with a perimetric
45° bevel the full wall depth and cut square to
the pipe end. For the 16" dia. pile, the correspond-
ing and plate shall be 1 1 /2" thick and fabrication
shall be the same.
6. Note the pile shell materials and driving procedure
shall all be in accordance with the appropriate
sections of the A.R.E.A. Specifications Sections S,
Part 4, "Pile Foundations�, current.
