A SET OF APPROVED PLANS SHALL BE KEPT ON SITE AT ALL TIMES DURING CONSTRUCTION. 2. THE HOURS OF WORK IN THE STREET RIGHT-OF-WAY SHALL BE LIMITED TO 8:30 AM TO 3:30 P.M. ON WEEKDAYS UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED IN WRITING BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS AT 235-2635. ALL STREET CLOSURES, PARTIAL OR FULL, SHALL BE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, FIRE DEPARTMENT, AND 911 SHALL BE NOTIFIED 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE. 3. ALL LOCATIONS OF EXISTING UTILITIES SHOWN ARE APPROXIMATE AND IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO VERIFY THE TRUE AND CORRECT LOCATION SO AS TO AVOID DAMAGE OR DISTURBANCE. FOR UTILITY LOCATE CALL 48-HOUR LOCATORS, 1-800-424-5555. 4. A PRECONSTRUCTION CONFERENCE AND A 24 HOUR NOTICE SHALL BE REQUIRED PRIOR TO STARTING NEW CONSTRUCTION. IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO SECURE ALL NECESSARY PERMITS PRIOR TO STARTING CONSTRUCTION. (INSPECTION WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY A REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CITY OF RENTON). IT SHALL BE THE CONTRACTOR'S RESPONSIBILITY TO NOTIFY THE UTILITY DEPARTMENT 24 HOURS IN ADVANCE OF BACKFILLING ALL CONSTRUCTION. 5. CONTRACTOR IS SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE MEANS, METHODS AND SEQUENCES OF CONSTRUCTION AND FOR THE SAFETY OF WORKERS AND OTHERS ON THE CONSTRUCTION SITE. 6. IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO OBTAIN STREET USE AND ANY OTHER RELATED PERMITS PRIOR TO ANY CONSTRUCTION. 7. PLANS APPROVED BY THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OTHER PLANS. 8. A COPY OF THESE APPROVED PLANS MUST BE ON THE JOB SITE WHENEVER CONSTRUCTION IS IN PROGRESS. 9. DATUM SHALL BE CITY OF RENTON, U.S.C. AND G.S. 10. ALL DISTURBED AREAS SHALL BE SEEDED AND MULCHED OR OTHERWISE STABILIZED TO THE SATISFACTION OF THE DEPARTMENT FOR THE PREVENTION OF ON -SITE EROSION AFTER THE COMPLETION OF CONSTRUCTION. 11. WHERE NEW PAVING MUST MATCH EXISTING PAVING, APPLY TACK COAT FOR PROPER SEALING. 12. ALL UTILITY TRENCHES SHALL BE BACKFILLED AND COMPACTED TO 95% MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY MODIFIED PROCTOR. TORM ORC1 AI NOTES AND -SPECIFICATIONS 1. CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE AND MAINTAIN TEMPORARY SEDIMENTATION/COLLECTION FACILITIES TO INSURE THAT SEDIMENT LADEN WATER DOES NOT ENTER NATURAL DRAINAGE SYSTEM. THESE FACILITIES MUST BE IN OPERATION PRIOR TO CLEARING AND CONSTRUCTION AND MUST BE MAINTAINED UNTIL CONSTRUCTION AND LANDSCAPING ARE COMPLETED AND THE POTENTIAL FOR ON -SITE EROSION HAS PASSED. 2. ALL ROOF DOWNSPOUTS AND FOOTING DRAINS SHALL BE TIGHTLINED TO THE STORM DRAIN SYSTEM. 3. THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED PLANS WHICH ARE ON FILE AT THE CITY OF RENTON DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. ANY DEVIATION FROM THE APPROVED PLANS WILL REQUIRE WRIT'_T'EN APPROVAL FROM THE CITY OF RENTON DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS. 4. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE CITY OF RENTON WITH AN AS -BUILT DRAWING OF THE STORM DRAINAGE SYSTEM, THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM, THE WATER SYSTEM AND THE SITE GRADING WHICH HAS BEEN STAMPED AND SIGNED BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER. 5. BEDDING SHALL BE PER APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. B-18c, CLASS "B" FOR RIGID PIPE (CONCRETE AND IRON). BEDDING MATERIAL SHALL BE TYPE I PLACED FROM FOUR (4) INCHES BELOW PIPE TO SPRINGLINE FOR PIPES TWENTY-SEVEN (27) INCHES DIAMETER AND SMALLER AND FROM SIX (6) INCHES BELOW TO SPRINGLINE FOR PIPES THIRTY (30) INCHES DIAMETER AND LARGER. BEDDING SHALL BE PLACED BY HAND IN SIX (6) INCH LAYERS AND COMPACTED TO NINETY-FIVE (95) PERCENT MAXIMUM DENSITY. 6. BEDDING SHALL BE PER APWA STANDARD PLAN NO. B-18c, CLASS F FOR FLEXIBLE PIPE (CMP OR PLASTIC). BEDDING MATERIAL SHALL BE TYPE 2 PLACED FOUR (4) INCHES BELOW PIPE TO SIX (6) INCHES ABOVE PIPE FOR PIPE TWENTY-SEVEN (27) INCHES AND SMALLER OR SIX (6) INCHES BELOW PIPE TO SIX (6) INCHES ABOVE PIPE FOR PIPE OVER TWENTY-SEVEN (27) INCHES INSIDE DIAMETER. BEDDING SHALL BE PLACED BY HAND IN SIX (6) INCH LAYERS AND COMPACTED TO NINETY- FIVE PERCENT MAXIMUM DENSITY. 7. BACKFILL SHALL BE BANK RUN GRAVEL OR NATIVE MATERIAL OF SIMILAR CHARACTERISTICS TO BANK RUN GRAVEL PLACED ABOVE PIPE BEDDING IN EIGHT (8) INCH LAYERS, WITH EACH LAYER COMPACTED TO NINETY-FIVE (95) PERCENT MAXIMUM DENSITY. CARE SHALL BE TAKEN SO THAT BACKFILLING OPERATIONS WILL NOT DISTURB THE PIPE IN ANY WAY. ROCKS LARGER THAN TWO (2) INCHES- SHALL BE AT LEAST FOUR (4) INCHES FROM THE PIPE. JETTING OR FLOODING WILL NOT BE PERMITTED. 8. RAIN LEADER PIPE SHALL BE POLYVINYL CHLORIDE (PVC) RUBBER GASKETED ASTM D 3034 SDR 35. 9. STORM DRAIN PIPE FOR TIGHT -LINE INSTALLATION SHALL BE CONCRETE RUBBER GASKETED ASTM C-14, CL.2 OR ASTM C-76-II, CORRUGATED GALVANIZED STEEL TREATMENT FIVE (5) ASPHALT COATED, HELICAL CORRUGATED ALUMINUM WITH TREATMENT FIVE (5) ASPHALT COATED. STEEL AND ALUMINUM PIPE SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM 1.5 FEET OF COVER IN PAVED AREAS. STEEL AND ALUMINUM PIPE SHALL HAVE WATER TIGHT CONNECTING BANDS. METAL PIPE SHALL BE SIXTEEN (16) GAUGE. 10. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL PROVIDE THE CITY OF RENTON WITH AN AS -BUILT DRAWING OF THE SANITARY SEWER SYSTEM WHICH HAS BEEN STAMPED AND SIGNED BY A LICENSED PROFESSIONAL ENGINEER. 2. BACKFILL SHALL BE PLACED EQUALLY ON BOTH SIDES OF THE PIPE IN LAYERS WITH A LOOSE AVERAGE DEPTH OF 6 INCHES, MAXIMUM DEPTH OF 8 INCHES, THOROUGHLY TAMPING EACH LAYER TO 95 PERCENT OF MAXIMUM DENSITY. THESE COMPACTED LAYERS MUST EXTEND FOR ONE PIPE DIAMETER ON EACH SIDE OF THE PIPE OR TO THE SIDE OF THE TRENCH. MATERIALS TO COMPLETE THE FILL OVER PIPE SHALL BE THE SAME AS DESCRIBED. 3. ALL PIPE AND APPURTENANCES SHALL BE LAID ON A PROPERLY PREPARED FOUNDATION IN ACCORDANCE WITH SECTION 7-02.3(1) OF THE CURRENT STATE OF WASHINGTON STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS FOR ROAD AND BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION.
