BELOW, IT IS UNDERSTOOD BY THE CONTRACTOR TO REFER TO THE
SPECIFIC GOVERNING AGENCY UNDER WHOSE JURISDICTION THIS
PROJECT FALLS.
GENERAL NOTES
1. All work and materials shall be in accordance with these plans and
the standards and specifications of the governing agency or munici-
pality under whose jurisdiction this project falls.
2. Approximate locations of existing utilities have been obtained from
available records and are shown for convenience. The contractor shall
be responsible for verification of locations shown and for the dis-
covery of possible additional utilities not shown, so as to avoid
damage or disturbance.
4. All 8", 12", and 18" storm drainage pipe shall be helical corrugated
metal pipe (16ga.), aluminum or galvanized steel, unless otherwise
noted. All steel pipe shall be Asphalt Treatment I coated. Non -rein-
forced bell and spigot concrete pipe, conforming to ASTM-C14 (extra
strength), Class II, may be substituted for the corrugated metal
pipe. (The bell end of the concrete pipe shall not be installed inside
the catch basins)
PVC pipe shall conform to ASTM D-3034 (SDR 35). All footing drains
and rockery drains shall be connected to the interceptor pipes with
6" ADS pipe or equivalent.
All pipe bedding shall be APWA Class "C". All trench backfill shall
be compacted to at least 95% of its maximum density at optimum
moisture content.
5. All catch basins shall be Type I-C or Type II-C (APWA-1977) and
shall be in accordance with standard drawings or details of the
governing agency. Within the City of Seattle, the City's standards
shall apply.
6. All disturbed surfaces shall be seeded to tough, hardy grass unless
other landscaping/erosion control measures are employed.
STORM DRAINAGE PLAN NOTES
1. All construction shall be in accordance with King County Specifications.
2. The storm drainage system shall be constructed according to the approved
plans which are on file in the Department's central records. Any devia-
tion from the approved plans will require written approval from the
Department.
3. A copy of these approved plans must be on the job site whenever con-
struction is in progress.
4. Datum shall be K.C.A.S. unless otherwise approved by the Department.
5. Before any construction/development activity occurs, a pre -construction
meeting must be held with the Department's Development Inspection
Section.
6. A requirement which must be met before beginning construction is to
provide proof of the liability policy required by King County Code
20.50.100(D) to the Department's Development Inspection Section.
7. King County Code 12.88 requires that construction noise only occurs
between 7am and lOpm on weekdays and 9am and lOpm weekends.
8. All sedimentation/erosion control facilities must be in operation
prior to clearing and building construction, and they must be satis-
factorily maintained until construction is completed and the poten-
tial for on -site erosion has passed.
9. ALL RETENTION/DETENTION FACILITIES MUST BE INSTALLED AND IN OPERATION
PRIOR TO OR IN CONJUNCTION WITH ALL CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY UNLESS
THAT ACTIVITY EXCEEDS THE CAPACITY AND INTENT OF THE EROSION/SEDIMEN-
TATION CONTROL FACILITIES OR UNLESS OTHERWISE APPROVED BY THE DEPARTMENT.
10. All disturbed areas shall be seeded and mulched or otherwise stabil-
ized to the satisfaction of the Department for the prevention of
on -site erosion after the completion of construction.
11. Grass shall be established by hydroseeding or as otherwise approved
by the Department. The performance bond will not be released until the
grass has been established, unless otherwise approved by the Department.
12. All pipe and appurtenances shall be laid on a properly prepared found-
ation in accordance with Section 7-02.3(1) of the current State of
Washington Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction.
This shall include necessary leveling of the trench bottom or the top
of the foundation material as well as placement and compaction of
required bedding material to uniform grade so that the entire length
of the pipe will be supported on a uniformly dense, unyielding base.
If the native material in the bottom of the trench meets the require-
ments for "Gravel Backfill for Pipe Bedding" the first lift of pipe
