1. WHERE FOUNDATION PAD IS LOCATED WITHIN A SIDEWALK, CONSTRUCT
PAD TOP FLUSH WITH
SIDEWALK GRADE, OMITTING CHAMFER WHERE TOP AND SIDEWALK ABUT, MOUNT TOP SHALL BE
FINISHED BY A CONCRETE CONTRACTOR AND SHALL MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF SECTION 8-14.`
THE WSDOT STANDARD SPECIFICATIONS.
2. PAD MOUNT DESIGN IS TYPICAL. SEE PLANS FOR TOTAL NUMBER OF CABINETS TO BE INSTALLED AT
EACH LOCATION.
3. PLACE SILICONE SEAL BETWEEN THE FOUNDATION AND CABINET.
4. ANCHOR BOLTS AND THEIR SPACING TO BE SUPPLIED BY CABINET IMIIANUFAICTURER AND SUIBM17ED
TO THE ENGINEER FOR APPROVAL.
5. CONDUIT SIZES/QUANTITIES FOR THE CONTROLLER AND ITS CABINETS SHALL BE INSTALLED PER THE
CONTRACT PLANS, PLUS ONE 2" SPARE CAPPED OUT PAST THE FOUNDATION.
6. CONCRETE SHALL BE CLASS 3000.
7. 2" CONDUIT SHALL BE PLACED FROM THE BBS TO THE CONTROLLER CABINET, AND FROM THE BBS
TO THE ITS CABINET.
8. EACH CABINET SHALL HAVE A Y8" DIAMETER PLASTIC DRAIN PIPE.
9. LOCATE CONDUITS CENTRALLY WITHIN THE CABINETS.
10. WHERE CABINETS ARE TO BE INSTALLED AND SPACE ALLOWS, A COMBINED FOUNDATION SHALL BE
USED.
11. SEE PLANS FOR LOCATION AND ORIENTATION IN RELATION TO TRAFFIC SIGNAL, ELECTRICAL SERVICE
AND IRRIGATION CABINETS.
12. INSTALL THE KING COUNTY METRO FURNISHED 336A CABINET ON THE NEW FOUNDATION, THE FRONT
DOOR OF THE CABINET SHALL BE ORIENTED AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS. SEE PLAN SHEETS FOR
RAPIDRIDE (BRIDE) CABINET LOCATION.
13. THE CABINET FOUNDATION SHALL BE CLASS 3000 CONCRETE.
14. INSTALL #4 REBAR AT THE CORNERS OF THE CABINET FOUNDATION. THE REBAR SHALL EXTEND 12"
INTO THE CABINET PAD IF ONE IS INCLUDED. THE REBAR IS NOT REQUIRED FOR CABINETS INSTALLED
INTO EXISTING SIDEWALK OR ASPHALT PAVEMENT.
15. ANCHOR BOLTS AND DATA FOR SPACING SHALL BE SUPPLIED BY THE CABINET MANUFACTURER.
16, IF CABINET IS INSTALLED IN EXISTING SIDEWALK OR ASPHALT PAVEMENT, THE CABINET FOUNDATION
SHALL EXTEND 18" BELOW FINISHED GRADE AND THE FULL CABINET PAD IS NOT REQUIRED.
17. SEAL CABINET TO FOUNDATION WITH GRAY OR CLEAR SILICON TO PREVENT MOISTURE FROM ENTERING
THE CABINET.
