1. SEE JOINT UTILITY TRENCH PLANS AND SECTIONS FOR
APPROXIMATE PLAN LAYOUT AND DETAILS, SHEETS
164-179.
2. THE JOINT TRENCH PROFILE SHOWN IS APPROXIMATE.
ADJUST THE PROFILE AS NECESSARY TO AVOID CONFLICTS
WITH EXISTING AND PROPOSED UTILITIES, WHILE
MAINTAINING 36" MINIMUM COVER OVER CONDUITS AND 12"
MINIMUM VERTICAL CLEARANCE BETWEEN OTHER
UNDERGROUND UTILITIES. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL
VERTICALLY TRANSITION THE TRENCH DEPTH BY
DEFLECTING JOINTS OR INSTALLING BENDS PER THE
FRANCHISE UTILITY REQUIREMENTS, AND TYPICAL JOINT
UTILITY TRENCH TRANSITION DETAIL, SHEET 174.
3. LOCATION, DEPTH AND SIZE OF EXISTING UTILITIES ARE
APPROXIMATE. CONTRACTOR TO VERIFY BY POTHOLING
BEFORE EXCAVATION.
4. CONTRACTOR SHALL SEQUENCE WORK TO ALLOW
CONTINUED OPERATION OF ALL EXISTING UTILITIES UNTIL
NEW SYSTEM IS COMPLETE. ONCE NEW SYSTEM IS
COMPLETED, TESTED, APPROVED BY UTILITY OWNERS AND
FULLY OPERATIONAL, CONTRACTOR SHALL REMOVE OR
ABANDON EXISTING FACILITIES NO LONGER IN USE.
