IT SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR TO OBTAIN NECESSARY PERMITS, CONSTRUCTION EASEMENTS AND RELEASES. 7. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY THE OWNER AND ENGINEER IN THE EVENT OF DISCOVERY OF POOR SOILS, STANDING GROUND WATER OR DISCREPANCIES FROM THE PLANS IN GRADES, LOCATIONS AND CONSTRUCTION OF UTILITIES, STRUCTURES, AND OTHER EXISTING CONDITIONS. 8. ASPHALT AND CONCRETE STREET PAVING SHALL BE SAWCUT TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF TWO (2) INCHES. ALL SURFACE CONCRETE, PAVEMENT, SIDEWALKS, CURB, GUTTERS, AND DRIVEWAY APPROACHES SHALL BE SAWCUT TO A MINIMUM DEPTH OF TWO (2) INCHES OR REMOVED TO AN EXISTING EXPANSION JOINT. 3. PLANS APPROVED BY THE CITY OF RENTON, PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT SHALL TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL OTHER PLANS. DRAINAGE NOTES 1. THE SURFACE WATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM SHALL BE CONSTRUCTED ACCORDING TO THE APPROVED PLANS, WHICH ARE ON FILE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT. TESTING BY AIR OR WATER EXFILTRATION IS REQUIRED ON ALL SEWERS INCLUDING DRY LINES, AND VACUUM TESTING IS REQUIRED ON ALL MANHOLES. 6. THE STANDARD VERTICAL SEPARATION FOR WATER LINES IS 3 FEET ABOVE THE SEWER LINE AND 1.5 FEET FOR ALL OTHER UTILITIES (SEPARATION SHALL BE MEASURED FROM THE OUTER WALL OF THE PIPES). CONCRETE ENCASEMENT WILL BE ALLOWED FOR WATER MAINS CROSSING AT LESS THAN 3 FEET BUT NO CLOSER THAN 1.5 FEET. FOR OTHER UTILITIES A 0.75 FOOT CLEARANCE WILL BE ALLOWED. IF STANDARD CLEARANCES CANNOT BE OBTAINED, THEN EITHER THE SANITARY SEWER SHALL BE CONCRETE ENCASED OR CLASS 52 DUCTILE IRON PIPE SHALL BE USED. IF THE PIPE IS ENCASED, IT SHALL BE ENCASED 10 FEET ON EACH SIDE OF THE CROSSING. IF CLASS 52 DUCTILE IRON PIPE IS USED FOR THE SEWER NO TRANSITIONING TO OTHER PIPE MATERIALS WILL BE: ALLOWED BETWEEN MANHOLES. 7. THE MINIMUM HORIZONTAL SEPARATION BETWEEN SEWER AND WATER MAINS SHALL BE 10 FEET. SEPARATION SHALL BE MEASURED FROM THE OUTER WALL OF THE PIPES. 8. THE MINIMUM LENGTH OF CONCRETE ENCASEMENT SHALL BE 20 LINEAR FEET. 9. IN UNIMPROVED AREAS, A MANHOLE IS TO EXTEND A MINIMUM OF SIX (6) INCHES AND A MAXIMUM OF TWELVE (12) INCHES ABOVE FINISHED GRADE.
