TO PROVIDE A CONTINUOUS LINE. FOLLOWING PROPER BACKFILL AND COMPACTION OF THE TRENCH, THE
EDGES OF THE SURFACING SHALL BE RE -TRIMMED 12 INCHES WIDER THAN THE EXCAVATION WITH
STRAIGHT VERTICAL EDGES FREE FROM IRREGULARITIES. A 1-1/4-INCH MINUS CRUSHED SURFACING
BASE COURSE SHALL BE PLACED TO A COMPACTED THICKNESS OF 4-1/2 INCHES, FOLLOWED BY
5/8-INCH MINUS CRUSHED SURFACING TOP COURSE PLACED TO A COMPACTED THICKNESS OF 2 INCHES.
ASPHALT CONCRETE PAVING SHALL THEN BE PLACED AND COMPACTED IN 2-INCH LIFTS TO MATCH THE
EXISTING THICKNESS AND GRADE OF THE ORIGINAL SURFACE. ASPHALT PATCH SHALL HAVE A MINIMUM
THICKNESS OF 2 INCHES AND A MAXIMUM THICKNESS OF 41NCHES. THE ASPHALT PATCH SHALL THEN
BE OVERLAID WITH A MINIMUM OF 1-1/2 INCHES COMPACTED ASPHALT CONCRETE. ASPHALT OVERLAY
