Atkinson has re- quested compensation for cost inefficiencies and additional working days as stated in Serial Letter#48 for the extra effort to pour the walls in stages. The following explanation provides a reason for this change. Description: An RFI was issued on 11/22/13 asking for a solution to constructing the return walls.Several options were discussed in a meeting held with the Atkinson and BergerABAM.The Contractor selected the option to construct the return wall in four separate pours. This required mobilizing a pump truck on four separate occasions, versus just one and additional time associated with forming, placing rebar, adding rebar couplers and removing forms. This change compensates for all cost incurred by Atkinson's support cost and direct field overhead and equipment.A new bid item will also be created for Stage 2 Return Walls. Additional non- compensable working days will be evaluated after an updated schedule is submitted and reviewed. Add the Following New Items to Contract CAG 11-133: New Bid Item SA-157"Stage 2 Return Walls-LS"compensates the Contractor for all,over- head, labor and equipment associated with the construction of the return walls. New Item SA-157 Stage 2 Return Walls By Lump Sum @ $24,188.00 Total this Change Order $24,188.00 Page 2 of 2
