Seattle Public Utilities has a 56 inch waterline running east west north of the stockpile. SPU requested that the City move a por- tion of the pile at the north limits since they had concerns regarding settlement. The geotechnical En- gineer was consulted and forwarded recommendations to alleviate SPU concerns. It was determined to remove a portion of the stockpile at the north end and reshape the side slope. Since SPU required the City to expedite the work it was determined to proceed by Force Account since it would be a short duration activity. Description: This change compensates Atkinson Construction for removing a portion of the west stockpile, associ- ated erosion control measures such as truck tire washing, restabilization of the north stockpile and straw mulch placement. A new bid item will also be created for Additional SPU Waterline Survey Monitoring as requested by SPU. Add the Following New Items to Contract CAG 11 -133: New Bid Item SA -152 "Stockpile Removal, SPU- FA" compensates the Contractor for all la- bor, equipment and material to remove a portion of the stockpile at the northern limits. This work will be tracked and paid in accordance with Section 1 -09.6, Force Account.
