King County will install the fiber termination panels in the Rapid Ride cabinets and splice the pre-terminated cable to the trunk.This splicing will be removed from the Contractor's scope of work from the Contract per RFP 012. Description of Change The 336A"Rapid Ride"cabinet shown on the contract plans will be changed to a 332"Rapid Ride"cabinet.The depth of the 332 cabinet is 30",which is deeper than the other cabinets at the Rainier Ave S and S 7th St intersection.The increased depth will require a larger cabinet pad at this intersection. The replacement and relocation of the existing type 1 junction box with the type 2 junction box,provided by the Contractor, at the Rainier Ave S and S 3rd St intersection will require an additional 15'of conduit to be installed from the 25-TA vault. King County will perform the fiber splicing work for the Rapid Ride cabinets. Description of Work The increase in size of the controller cabinet foundation at Rainier Ave S and S 7th St is detailed in revised sheets 246 and 263. Revised sheets 257 and 258 show the addition of approximately 15 linear feet of 2"conduit and the replacement of an existing type 1 junction box with a Contractor provided type 2 junction box at the NE corner of the Rainier Ave and S 3rd St intersection.The existing traffic signal's circuit continuity will need to be protected during construction. Delete the fiber splicing work for the Rapid Ride cabinets,as per RFP 012's redlined plan sheets,dated 8/31/2012. Material Contractor shall provide conduit and type 2 junction box per contract specifications. King County Metro shall provide the 332"Rapid Ride"Cabinet and associated equipment.Contractor shall coordinate cabinet delivery with King County Metro Representative.
