City of Renton Seeks Candidates for Library Advisory Board
RENTON, WA – The City of Renton is seeking candidates to fill a vacancy on the city’s Library Advisory
Board. The Board will recommend a candidate to the Mayor and the appointment will be confirmed
by the City Council. Residents who represent the diverse nature of the city, including ethnicity,
geography, gender and age are encouraged to apply.
The Library Advisory Board consists of five members who serve in an advisory capacity to the Mayor,
City Council, King County Library Board, and local library officials. They provide input regarding the
scope and quality of library services provided by the King County Library System (KCLS) to the
residents of Renton.
Board members serve without compensation, must reside inside the Renton city limits and must be
able to attend meetings held on the third Wednesday of each month beginning at 5:30 p.m.
To apply, applications can be completed online (rentonwa.gov/boardsandcommissions/) or
downloaded, completed and mailed to: Mayor’s Office, City of Renton, 1055 South Grady Way,
Renton, WA 98057.
The deadline for applications is March 7, 2017.
