Direct Connection to King County 72-inch South Interceptor

The King County Wastewater Treatment Division’s Local Public Agency (LPA) Program has
completed a review of construction plans (approved by City of Renton on 8/30/2023) in
accordance with the terms of King County Code 28.84.050 for the above-submitted project.
King County has approved the plans for a new 8-inch side sewer connection to the 72-inch South
Interceptor at maintenance hole RE*SINT.R18-06, and subject to the following:
1. The LPA Program must be contacted at 206-477-5414 or LPA.team@kingcounty.gov at
least five (5) working days in advance of the pre-construction conference for this project.
2. The LPA Program must be contacted at 206-477-5414 or LPA.team@kingcounty.gov at
least five (5) working days prior to construction activity within 50 feet of the King
County sewer pipe.
3. King County shall be provided a copy of the “Contractor’s Notice to Proceed” and the
contractor’s contact information prior to the start of construction.
4. The proposed connection to King County MH RE*SINT.R18-06 shall be made per the
inside drop connection detail 3305-436 on Plan Ref. “Utility Details” Sheet C4.22.
5. King County MH RE*SINT.R18-06 shall be unloaded all around or structurally
supported during construction to avoid unbalanced soils loading.

6.In the event that entry into a King County MH is required in the course of the proposed
work, or inspection of the proposed work, note that the King County MH is a Permit
Required Confined Space and all applicable rules and regulations shall be followed prior
to and during entry.
7.A King County representative shall be on site at all times during excavation, coring, and
installation of the connection to the subject sewer and MH.
8.King County does not guarantee pipe location, diameter, or invert elevation; therefore,
field verification is recommended prior to construction.
9.No debris shall be allowed to enter the King County sewer system during the construction
of or the connection to the subject sewer and MH.
10.All work on King County pipelines and facilities shall not be backfilled until it has been
inspected and approved by a King County representative.
11.The proposed connection to the MH RE*SINT.R18-06 shall be plugged and not put into
service until the tributary system has been cleaned, inspected, tested, and approved by the
City of Renton.
12.Upon completion of the work, the City of Renton shall provide King County with an “as-
constructed” drawing of the new connection to the subject sewer and a copy of the sewer
test results.
