Proof Roll Observation ESNW rep was onsite to observe proof roll of road A. The contractor drove a full water truck slowly over the roadway subgrade. ESNW rep observed two localized areas in need of over excavation. The contractor should over excavate approximately 2’ deep into subgrade to place approximately 12” of quarry spalls. Once the spalls are placed, bring the excavation up to grade with 1 ¼” minus crushed rock. The remainder of the roadway subgrade was observed to be very dense, firm, unyielding, and suitable for asphalt paving. ESNW rep will return to observe over excavation on Monday the 18th.
