GENERAL INFORMATION
Rob with American Construction requested Terracon be on site for field density testing, fill placement observation.
Earthwork is being performed by American Construction. The results of observations for today were reported to Rob with
American Construction.
The construction documents referenced for this inspection included: G-4 dated 1/28/2022.
OBSERVED LOCATIONS
North and south sides of bridge
SUBGRADE REVIEW
Prior to the placement of fill the subgrade was reviewed and consisted of sand with gravel . The subgrade was observed to
be firm and stable.

The fill was observed to be placed in an approximately 4-inch-thick lift. Compactive efforts were applied with the following
equipment: jumping jack, hand operated vibratory plate. The fill placed appeared firm and stable during the application of
compactive efforts.
DENSITY TEST RESULTS
Field density tests were conducted on the fill placed today utilizing the nuclear method (ASTM D6938). Two(2) field density
tests were performed. The test results met the minimum specified 95% compaction requirement as compared to ASTM D
1557 test method. Refer to the attached field density test summary for individual test data.
COMPLIANCE STATEMENT
Based on our observations and testing, the above noted items appear to be in general accordance with the project
documents.
