As requested, ESNW rep was on site to observe an overexcavation and proof roll of the onsite roadway subgrade and to observe sidewalk subgrade. Overexcavation and Proof Roll Observations ESNW rep. observed the contractor excavate approximately 6-inches of loose and saturated material from two separate previously observed sections of the onsite roadway. ESNW rep. used a ½-inch steel T-probe to observe the overexcavation subgrade. The subgrade was observed to be dense to very dense. ESNW rep. then observed the contractor use a loaded dump truck to proof roll the two overexcavated sections of the onsite roadway. The proof rolled areas were observed to be firm and unyielding and considered suitable for the proposed roadway. Sidewalk Subgrade Observation ESNW rep. used a ½-inch steel T-probe to observe a section of sidewalk subgrade that was previously observed to be loose and saturated. The sidewalk subgrade was observed to be medium dense to dense and is considered suitable for the proposed sidewalk.
