COUNCIL CONCUR ESD Jason Seth Cindy Moya 5.b) CONSENT AGENDA AB - 3456 Finance Department submits a utility bill adjustment request from Bel Renton Holdings, LLC, for a multi-family property at 201 SW 5th Pl Bldg L, and recommends adjusting the account in the total amount of $3,450.63 for excess water usage caused by a qualified water line leak in accordance with Renton Municipal Code 8-4-46 and 8-5-23. REFER TO FINANCE COMMITTEE Parks & Recreation MJ Van Cleave Carrie Nass Roberta Graver 5.f) CONSENT AGENDA AB - 3458 Public Works Transportation Systems Division recommends setting December 4, 2023 as a Public Hearing date to consider the adoption of an ordinance adding a one-tenth of one percent sales tax within the boundaries of the Renton Transportation Benefit District to support transportation improvements. REFER TO FINANCE COMMITTEE; SET PUBLIC HEARING ON DECEMBER 4, 2023 Public Works – Transportation Martin Pastucha Jim Seitz Jeannie Gabriel 5.g) CONSENT AGENDA AB - 3462 Public Works Utility Systems Division reports bid opening on September 26, 2023 for the Burnett Ave S Sidewalk & Utilities Replacement (CAG-23-299) project, and recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder, Active Construction, Inc., in the amount of $897,897; and requests authorization to transfer $182,184 from the General Fund to the project budget to cover the budget gap. REFER TO FINANCE COMMITTEE Public Works – Utilities Martin Pastucha Ron Straka Jeannie Gabriel 6.a) UNFINISHED BUSINESS Committee of the Whole: Council President O'Halloran presented a report recommending concurrence in the staff recommendation to approve the proposed property tax levy ordinances to increase the 2024 property tax levy by 1% plus new construction and prior year adjustments and conduct first reading of the ordinances at tonight's Council meeting. COUNCIL CONCUR IN THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION Finance Kari Roller Kristin Trivelas Melissa Crawford 6.b) UNFINISHED BUSINESS Transportation Committee: Chair McIrvin presented a report recommending concurrence in the staff recommendation to adopt the resolution authorizing the closure of Sunset Blvd NE between I-405 northbound and southbound freeway ramps, for a period not to exceed 60 days, between January 14, 2024 and May 14, 2024 for the purpose of widening the existing bridge over Sunset Blvd NE and completing the seismic retrofits on the existing bridge piers. COUNCIL CONCUR IN THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION Public works – Transportation Martin Pastucha Jim Seitz Jeannie Gabriel 6.c) UNFINISHED BUSINESS Utilities Committee: Vice-Chair Rivera presented a report recommending concurrence in the staff recommendation to approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement with Carollo Engineers, Inc., in the amount of $1,663,616 for Final Design of the Kennydale Lakeline Sewer Improvements project. COUNCIL CONCUR IN THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION Public Works – Utilities Martin Pastucha Ron Straka Jeannie Gabriel 6.d) UNFINISHED BUSINESS Utilities Committee: Vice-Chair Rivera presented a report recommending concurrence in the staff recommendation to approve and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk to execute the agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group, Inc., in the amount of $296,170.91 for the Ginger Creek and Honey Creek Subbasin Plans. COUNCIL CONCUR IN THE COMMITTEE RECOMMENDATION Public Works – Utilities Martin Pastucha Ron Straka Jeannie Gabriel 7.a) Resolutions: Resolution No. 4510: A resolution of the City of Renton, Washington, authorizing temporary full street closures of Sunset Blvd NE between the I-405 northbound and southbound freeway ramps. COUNCIL ADOPT THE RESOLUTION AS PRESENTED Public Works – Transportation Martin Pastucha Jim Seitz Jeannie Gabriel 7.b) Ordinances for first reading: Ordinance No. 6122: An ordinance of the City of Renton, Washington, authorizing the dollar amount and percentage increase for property tax to be levied for the year 2024, providing for severability, and establishing an effective date.
